Been contemplating on the living room acoustics.
- Niinimaen.com audio has acoustic boards with your own picture. 120×60×3 cm for 149€
- Ecophon has a lot of products for ceiling and some for walls Prices start from ~ 25€ / m^2
- The real DIY men have rouhevaahtomuovi Espe.fi is a manufacturer and 200×100×5 cm plates for “Spec 100” is 71€ + VAT and 200×100×7 cm is 100 € + VAT. Should be available also from Etola, Biltema and pals.
- Soften has great looking wall panels with pretty steep price tag: 84 – 105 € per 55 × 55 × 5 cm panel.
- Wigfoam has profiled foam plates. The SlowSine version is 285€ for 4 plates of 80×40×10 cm dimensions. Not bad looking, but the price is not too modest.
And the actual implementation of the acoustics improvement is not materialized yet. Having plates in the high ceiling conflicts with the lighting system. Maybe first shot could be trying out some rouhevaahtomuovi plates on the wall behind the loudspeakers and have the plates go from the loudspeaker level up to 2m on the wall and see what happens.
Addendum: this sounds like a plan. Except for the N cubic meter bass traps and floor acoustic plates.
Addendum 2: Etra has rouhevaahtomuovi plates for 44€/m^2, the thickest model being 3 cm and 100×50cm. But its only about 17 kg / m^3, and recommended density is somewhere around 100 kg / m^3. K-rauta sells Paroc’s acoustic plates for 250€ / 7 m^2 for ceiling installation.
Addendum 3: More rouhevaahtomuovi in Motonet
